'Whatcha Reading??' Wednesday

It has been a slow week of reading for little old me. I'm still reading "Catching Fire" by Suzanne Collins. It's the second book in The Hunger Games series. I'm enjoying it but finding it hard to find time to blog, read and catch up on household stuff in the evenings once my mini humans are tucked into bed. I'm 80% finished reading it on my Kindle so I should be finished with it in the next day or two.

Next? I have a pile of library books that have been staring me down for the past 2-3 weeks (thank you on-line library renewal system!!). I may picke up "One Deadly Sin" by Annie Solomon
or perhaps one of the 61+ ebooks that I have on my Kindle.

So, what have you been reading this past week? Did you like it, love it or was it just not your thang?

  1. I just finished No Humans Involved by Kelley Armstrong this morning. I loved it...no real surprise there ;-) I think my next read is going to be the first Hunger Games book. I picked it up off the Kobo site a little while back and it's calling to me lol!

  2. April - I think I want to start re-reading the Women of the Underworld series again. :) I loved it the first time and managed to re-read "Bitten" a couple of months ago. You get a different feel from the books re-reading them because you already know how things are going to turn out. :)
I just finished "Catching Fire" (2nd book in The Hunger Games) and enjoyed it. The series is something that I wouldn't normally think I'd like so I was happily surprised when I couldn't put it down. I hope you like it!

  3. I am almost finished with Jerusalem Maiden, and am not sure yet what my final verdict will be on this...have to see how it ends.

Next up will be a non-fiction selection I think, although I never know until I actually pull the book out of the piles to be read :)

  4. I'm participating in a three-week online group read of Dune by Frank Herbert. Loving the interaction with other readers.

  5. The Book Girl & Shaz -- sounds like you've got your hands full with some good reads. :) I'm trying to whittle down my 'gotta to be read before I have to pay library fines' pile. ;)

  6. Hi Laurie,

I'm reading Shantaram at the moment and loving it. I've heard of it a while back but it wasn't until I stumbled onto Athira's readalong that I decided to go for it. Here's the link if you want to take a look: http://www.readingonarainyday.com/2011/05/announcing-shantaram-read-along.html
I hope you have a good week.

  7. Delia -- I've never heard of a 'read along' before. I tried being part of a book club last fall and while I enjoyed getting together with the other women in the group I found that I'm just not a group reader. I know that book clubs help so many people keep up on their reading and find new books, I guess I'm just not one of them. I'm a lone reader I guess. :) The read along is an interesting idea though!
