This week I've planned a few new recipes and have brought out some of my 'must have kitchen appliances' to do some of the meal cookin' too. The mighty crockpot/slow cooker is a 'must-have' in my book. Another must have is a breadmaker -- of which I own two! My breadmakers are making quite a showing this week with two breads and homemade pizza dough!
Not only are we getting our carb fill with breads and pizza dough but tonight we're making baked chocolate donuts!! Oh YA! Total "Awesome Mom Points" will be given to yours truly! We'll be feasting on said treat while watching the Amazing Race episode that we PVR'd last night. :) Bliss!
I hope everyone has a great and tasty week. Currently my home is smelling mighty great due to the Chicken and Sausage Cacciatore and Crusty Rosemary Bread that my crock pot and bread machine have made for me. Who doesn't like to come home from a hard day and have supper already cooking and smelling great?!?

ReplyDeleteI want to see that Baked Chocolate Donut recipe please!!
ReplyDeleteWhen we upgrade to a bigger house with a bigger kitchen, I think one of my first purchases will be a bread maker.

Dzoli -- glad you like the meal plan! :)
ReplyDeleteKym - we're going to bake the donuts tomorrow night. I'll let you know how they turn out. The kids learned the hard way last night that if you don't eat your supper that your mother has lovingly prepared, you don't get to make and eat dessert. Such is life. Perhaps they'll eat their supper tomorrow night? I can only hope.
Amy -- A bread machine, in my humble opinion, is a must. Coming home to fresh bread baking puts a smile on my face. :)
Oh man! I want to come eat at your house this week! My plan is chicken with a roasted red pepper and cream sauce, a pork loin with some type of apple stuffing yet to be decided on, and this crazy good breakfast salad with a maple vinaigrette that I found over on Perry's Plate. I haven't gotten as far as the weekend yet! Something fun for trick or treat night...
ReplyDeleteJen,
ReplyDeleteYour meal plan sounds great! Mmmm, chicken with roasted red pepper and cream sauce. Count me in!!
Weekends here are more casual ... or at least not planned. That's the time when I have time to do a big roast dinner ... or make homemade pizza or other simple meals. It all depends on my energy level and our schedules. :) Have a great week!
