I've been making these chocolate macaroons for our Christmas celebrations for many, many years. They're ridiculously easy to make, are a great no-bake option and taste like hot chocolate! And they are a million times less
All of the ingredients are tossed into a saucepan, heated up and then bite-sized bits are dropped onto a prepared pan and then chilled in the fridge. So easy! This year we opted to add some festive sprinkles to the top for than fancy feel. ;)
These bite-sized bits of chocolatey goodness won't last long.
Chocolate Macaroons
Yield:36(ish) macaroons
2 cups white sugar
6 tbsp cocoa
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup shredded coconut
3 cups rolled oats
Garnish: festive sprinkles
Combine white sugar, cocoa, butter, and milk in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, then add vanilla.
Remove from heat, stir in coconut, and rolled oats. Mix well. Form bite-sized bits with a small melon baller (or drop by spoonfuls) onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Top with sprinkles, if desired.
