RomComs are tricky for me. I love great banter and a couple I can root for, but often they fall kind of flat for me. That's not the case with Part Of Your World. This sweet RomCom was a truly enjoyable read. It uses the popular opposites attract trope, has a predictable but enjoyable HEA. It also balances humour and a great connection between the characters with serious mental health topics (see trigger warnings below my review).
My only beef is the repetition of Alexis' angsty internal dialogue about how Daniel and she are too different from each other. We get it. You're from two different worlds! But the chemistry is great and Daniel as the leading man is, sweeeet nerdy bookworm!! a total *chef's kiss*. The unexpected bonus in this story was Alexis' friend Bri who stood out with her stellar verbal quips and humour. Naturally, I was thrilled to hear that the next book in this series - which pubs in 2023 - will feature Bri! Sign me up!
This is a sweet romance that had added depth and a Grey's Anatomy vibe. It has characters you'll root for (and some you'll love to hate) and I appreciated how Jimenez didn't hold back detailing Alexis' traumatic experiences within her story. I eagerly await the next book in this series and plan to read Jimenez's backlist.

Book Description from GoodReads: The New York Times bestselling author of Life's Too Short delivers a refreshingly modern fairy tale perfect for fans of Casey McQuiston and Emily Henry.
After a wild bet, gourmet grilled-cheese sandwich, and cuddle with a baby goat, Alexis Montgomery has had her world turned upside down. The cause: Daniel Grant, a ridiculously hot carpenter who’s ten years younger than her and as casual as they come—the complete opposite of sophisticated city-girl Alexis. And yet their chemistry is undeniable.
While her ultra-wealthy parents want her to carry on the family legacy of world-renowned surgeons, Alexis doesn’t need glory or fame. She’s fine with being a “mere” ER doctor. And every minute she spends with Daniel and the tight-knit town where he lives, she’s discovering just what’s really important. Yet letting their relationship become anything more than a short-term fling would mean turning her back on her family and giving up the opportunity to help thousands of people.
Bringing Daniel into her world is impossible, and yet she can’t just give up the joy she’s found with him either. With so many differences between them, how can Alexis possibly choose between her world and his?
