One Of Us Is Dead

This was my first book by Jeneva Rose, an author who initially came to my attention because of her funny TikToks which repeatedly (and delightfully sarcastically) called out a reviewer named Scott who had left negative reviews of her earlier books. I grabbed this free Audible title and jumped in without even reading the blurb.

One Of Us Is Dead is a story about the lives, loves and lies of a bunch of rich Real Housewives-type women who congregate at the posh and exclusive Glow Salon where they share gossip and imbibe beverages while they get their facials, mani-pedis etc. This book was a bit different in that readers know someone will be killed, but we don't find out who dies until the end. How the murder comes about is a bit rushed and implausible, but the ride getting there was entertaining - like you're a fly on the wall learning everyone's dark secrets. 

The story is told by a cast of talented narrators who did a great job with the multiple POVs of this group of suburban women who are an array of characters - the rich bitch with claws, the country hayseed new wife, bitter ex-wife .... who are easy to keep track of with their distinct personalities. 

This was an entertaining, light, gossipy, over-the-top popcorn thriller filled with suburban drama, catty women and secrets.
