Under the Southern Sky

Kristy Woodson Harvey has been on my TBR for awhile now. I've heard great things about this southern author, so I brought a copy of Under The Southern Sky on my trip down to Nashville a couple of weeks ago.

This was a light, heartwarming, Southern fiction read. It delicately touches on some weightier topics and has a few poignant moments that are handled with compassion. It's a story about family, friends and second chances that is told with multiple POVs and its North Carolina setting is beautifully described for readers. (Note to self: Add North Carolina to future vacation list)

There was a bit of repetition and with the emotional subject matter I was hoping for more of a tearjerker, but I enjoyed this story and think it will appeal to readers who are looking for a heartwarming story with southern charm that doesn't require the Kleenex box to be nearby to mop up your tears.
