How To Lose A Guy Before Christmas

This was a sweet Hallmark Christmas-y audiobook that has bits of humour, a picture-perfect small-town location, and a dollop of spice as two 'not quite strangers' connect on a rideshare app on their way home for the holidays. Snow happens and the couple are stuck in a small-town called Tinsel (naturally) and shenanigans ensue with the locals.

Characters: the main couple was okay but the group of saucy senior citizens and phone conversations with Lucy's younger sister overshadowed the main couple whose love connection was kinda meh.

Narrators: Two narrators tell the story (love that!). I liked Andi Arndt's voice, but Jason Clarke sounded like Will Arnett spoofing the 'manly man' voice for an action movie trailer. It was distracting and I was surprised that his voicing for the female character was stronger.

This was a cute, festive, and predictable story that is included with an Audible membership and was a quick and easy listen. Unfortunately, it won't be a story that will stick with me (and don't expect the title to make sense).

Book Description from Audible.caA steamy, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy about mistakes we make and the chances we take on the road to love.

After a snowstorm grounds her flight, Lucy makes a last-ditch effort to get home for Christmas using a rideshare app. She thinks she’ll be taking a road trip with a stranger...but the guy who shows up is someone she knows all too well. He’s the hookup she ghosted a few months ago, and now she’ll be stuck in a car with him for the most awkward road trip of her life.

Making matters worse, he’s even more gorgeous than she remembers—too bad things between them are frostier than the North Pole. Will the long ride home allow them to get to know each other in surprising new ways? And more importantly, will the season warm things up and send sparks flying yet again? Whatever happens, one thing is clear: It’s going to take a whole lot of Christmas magic to unlock their guarded hearts.
