Pillars of the Earth

Title: Pillars of the Earth

Author: Ken Follett

Type: Historical Fiction

Pages: 973

Synopsis: A wonderful epic set in the 12-century England. The story follows the lives of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout monk who is driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral in the world. It also follows Tom, the mason who becomes his architect and the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame. It is also the story of a struggle between good and evil that will turn church against state, and brother against brother.

My Thoughts: A very long but great read. Kind of like a medieval soap opera. Many storylines converging into a great story! One of those books that everyone should read.

My Rating: 4.5/5 (aka awesome read!)
